NCACE President's Welcome

Dear Members of the North Carolina Association of Colleges and Employers (NCACE): 

I am thrilled to welcome you as we embark on the 2024-25 academic year! This time of year brings new opportunities, and I hope you find NCACE to be a source of support and inspiration as we navigate the exciting challenges of career coaching, talent development, recruitment, and event planning. Our community is dedicated to fostering collaboration, sharing best practices, and celebrating our collective successes. Committed to promoting professional growth across diverse sectors—including business, industry, government, and post-secondary education in North Carolina—we will focus this year on driving innovative practices that enhance employment opportunities and enrich the professional development of our members and the students we serve. I look forward to an inspiring year ahead!

I want to take a moment to reaffirm our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our Diversity mission statement emphasizes that "NCACE is committed to creating spaces for ongoing discourse and the professional development of individuals from all groups by developing, examining, and instituting equitable and informed policies and procedures.” In light of recent policy changes impacting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices across college campuses in our state, NCACE is dedicated to highlighting and celebrating the value these practices bring to our work.

This year, we will continue to uphold this commitment through programming and resources that reflect our dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring these principles are woven into all our initiatives. We recognize that embracing diverse perspectives is essential for growth and innovation in our field. Therefore, we will prioritize initiatives that support intersectionality, neurodiversity, and inclusive practices, ensuring that every voice is heard and celebrated.

Additionally, we will place an elevated focus on enhancing the employer experience, providing opportunities for all members to engage and grow in meaningful ways. This effort will be driven by the newly established Employer Engagement Committee, which will be sharing more opportunities for engagement in the near future.

I encourage you to connect with your colleagues, share your insights, and actively participate in our events and discussions. Your unique experiences and perspectives enrich our community, and together, we can create impactful change.
