2023 NCACE Philanthropy Project - HOST Homes

Each year at the conference, NCACE completes a project designed to help our community.

This year we are supporting HOST homes, a not-for-profit in Raleigh that supports area college students with housing insecurity. HOST is a community-engaged strategy to address housing needs without costly emergency shelters or transitional housing programs. Details can be found on their website: https://www.hostnc.org/.

The following items are needed for care packages:

  • Check made out to HOST (to use for Uber cards)
  • Sheet set (any size)
  • Towel/washcloth set
  • Shampoo, conditioner
  • Body soap, deodorant
  • Toothbrush/toothpaste
  • Body lotion
  • Disposable razors
  • Gas and grocery gift cards
  • Basic first aid kit
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Laundry detergent
  • Candy or other treat
  • Small silk plant or candle

Conference attendees can help pack care packages for HOST during the philanthropy project time of noon-2:45pm on Monday, May 1st. Come find us in the Ballroom, near registration!

Even if you're not attending the conference, you can still contribute to this worthwhile cause:

  • Select an item (or two or three!) from the HOST HOMES Wish List and have it sent directly to Raleigh for the conference. Deadline to purchase: APRIL 24!
  • Send a cash donation via Venmo to @Sara-Concini (last 4 - 1337). Be sure to comment Host Homes in the notes.
  • Purchase an Uber or Lyft Gift Card and bring it to the conference. Housing insecure students often also struggle with transportation to their jobs / school.
